The following is a list of public meetings in the Lodi and Galt areas this week:


Lodi Library board

Key items:

  • Review collection development and materials selection policy.
  • Review community room use policy.
  • Mid-year budget adjustments.
  • Update on Phase 3 renovation project.

When and where: 5:30 p.m., Lodi Public Library, 201 W. Locust St.

Lodi Animal Advisory Commission

Key items:

  • Presentation of Barn Cat program by Debra Webster.
  • PALS organizational chart.
  • Report on shelter improvements.

When and where: 6 p.m., Lodi Police Department community room, 215 W. Elm St., Lodi.

Lodi Youth Commission

Key items:

  • Discussion of Spring Fling.

When and where: Hutchins Street Square, Cottage Room, 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi.


Lodi City Council shirtsleeve session

Key items:

  • Discuss three-tier residential electrical rate structure.
  • Review water, wastewater and electricity financial reports for the second quarter of the 2011-12 fiscal year.

When and where: 7 a.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

Galt Joint Union High School District board

Key items:

  • Discuss budget reductions for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
  • State education budget update.
  • Presentation on the Gifted and Talented Education program.
  • Reports on strategic for all high schools and incentive program for Galt High students.
  • Adopt contract reopeners for certificated and classified staff.
  • Consider Estrellita High single plan for student achievement for the 2011-12 fiscal year.

When and where: 6:30 p.m., Galt City Council chambers, 380 Civic Drive.

San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Key items:

  • Approve Thornton community improvement study and mitigated negative declaration.
  • Award contract for communication tower project at 7675 E. Liberty Road.
  • Award contract for Woodbridge Road resurfacing.

When and where: 9 a.m., board chambers, 44 N. San Joaquin St., sixth floor, Stockton.

San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Key items:

  • How state public safety realignment plan affected the county during the first quarter.
  • Update on county jail expansion project.
  • Report on public defender costs.

When and where: 1:30 p.m., board chambers, 44 N. San Joaquin St., sixth floor, Stockton.

Lodi Improvement Committee

Meeting canceled.


Lodi City Council

Key items:

  • Legislative update from Stephen Qualls of the League of California Cities.
  • Approve specifications for irrigation improvements at White Slough Water Pollution Control plant.
  • Accept improvements or the alley reconstruction project.
  • Appointments to the Lodi Senior Citizens Commission, personnel board of review and the Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee.
  • Mid-year budget adjustments.
  • Consider recommendations by Lodi Animal Advisory Commission.
  • Consider adopting ordinance regarding local hire policy and apprenticeship.

Galt Parks and Recreation Commission special meeting

Key items:

  • Presentation of Galt Youth Master Plan by Mayor Barbara Payne.
  • Update on security requirements.
  • Nonprofit usage and fees for Chabolla Community Center.
  • Financial impact to maintenance for landscaping on C Street and Oldtown area.

North San Joaquin Water Conservation District board

Key items:

  • Prioritize goals for 2012.
  • Review 2011-12 budget revisions and 2012-2013 budget draft.
  • Form Water Operations Advisory Committee consisting of members of public and two board members.

When and where: 3 to 5:45 p.m., Lodi Public Library Community Room, 201 W. Locust St.

Lockeford Municipal Advisory Council

When and where: 7 p.m., old Lockeford schoolhouse, 19456 N. Jack Tone Road.

Highway 12 Association

Key item:

  • Items of interest about traffic and safety conditions on Highway 12 between Lodi and Napa.

When and where: Noon, The Point Waterfront Restaurant, 102 Marina Drive, Rio Vista.


San Joaquin County Local Agency Formation Commission

Key items:

  • Six-month budget report.

When and where: 10 a.m., Board of Supervisors chambers, 44 N. San Joaquin St., sixth floor, Stockton.
