State Sen. Dave Cogdill, R-Modesto, will host the 10th annual Natural Resources Summit on Friday in Sonora.
The event is designed to educate the public about the connection between resource management, improving air quality, decreasing wildfire risk and increasing water supply.
In addition to Cogdill, speakers will include Assemblyman Tom Berryhill, R-Oakdale; Patrick Michaels, a climatologist and distinguished senior fellow for the School of Public Policy at George Mason University; Mark Rey, former undersecretary for Natural Resources and Environment for the George W. Bush administration; Randy Fiorini, Delta Stewardship Council member and past president of the Association of California Water Agencies; and Randy Moore, Pacific Southwest Regional Forester, U.S. Forest Service.
The summit will begin at 9 a.m. in the Sierra Building at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, 220 Southgate Drive, Sonora. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
