A man wrestled and subdued a teenage boy he suspected of prowling in backyards until police were able to arrive Monday.
The resident of a home on the 200 block of Eden Street spotted a 15-year-old boy snooping through her backyard at around 3 p.m., Lodi Police Officer Nick Rafiq said.
She suspected it could be the same person who burglarized her house early last week, and called police. A neighbor, whose home had also been burglarized last week, suspected the same thing. So he confronted the juvenile and a struggle ensued, Rafiq said.
Officers arrived and took the boy into custody. However, he was released into his mother’s custody at the scene and transported to Lodi Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Rafiq said.
