  Since I wasn't asked about my views on the economics of the Galt District, I will just make a few observations here. When I left the board, we had a 5% reserve, about $1.3M in our Mello-Roos fund, did not have any long term debt (Galt now owes $2M in loans), our teachers were not on the verge of a strike because they do not have a contract, had just completed paying for a new continuation school ($9M) without bond money and our schools were at the top of the food chain. What happened?

  I find it also interesting that I WASN"T asked...instead the member who drove the District off the cliff is asked...

  I ask the question that should have been asked of Mr Beck from day one...WHY are you running for two separate elected Boards? The Northern San Joaquin Water Board and the Galt High School Board. Where will his priorities and efforts be put. Galt cannot afford to have a parttime board member in such a critical time as having been put on Program Improvement status. It seems to me that he will just be the third vote for the Ag program and department. What a shame.

  Just to set the record straight...I served my time and more as a draftee...I obtained the rank of Sgt E-5 during that period having gone through intensive combat and nuclear weapons leadership programs. I DID NOT retire from the Army.
