Residents in Acampo have rallied together in opposition of what may become farm labor housing on an undeveloped property on the north side of Brittany Lane east of Bryant Road. The 4.85-acre lot is located within the California Village Farms Tract and is being purchased by John Droge from property owner Fred Smith.

A group running a website called StopLaborCamp.com plans to bring close to a hundred people to show their opposition to a proposed farm labor camp at the San Joaquin County Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, where the commission will vote on the approval of a right of way or roadway access to the landlocked property.
