Lodi man arrested for meat theft

A Lodi man who allegedly stole hundreds of dollars worth of beef was found and arrested on Monday, said Lt. Chris Jacobson of the Lodi Police Department.

Scott Biddle, 36, was talking with a woman on the 600 block of East Victor Road when Officer Chris Delgado says he recognized him from a theft report on Jan 20.

Safeway reported that seven value packs of meat worth $350 were stolen from their Kettleman Lane store, according to police. Police were requested to keep an eye out for the man, who Safeway says took the food in a small handbasket at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Biddle was arrested on felony charges of burglary.
