A batting helmet belonging to Reggie Jackson of the minor league Kansas A’s in 1967 has been sold to raise money for Lodi’s Support Our Troops organization.

The helmet was in the possession of Jody Ives, who played with Jackson in 1967. Ives’ locker was next to Jackson’s and at the last game Ives took Jackson’s batting helmet and told Jackson he was going to be a famous baseball player. The next year Jackson moved up to Major League Baseball and the rest is history.
