Case van Steyn, a dairy farmer from Galt, has been re-elected to serve on Dairy Farmers of America’s board of directors, representing the Cooperative’s Western Area.
Van Steyn milks about 1,500 cows at three locations with his brother and son. They raise corn silage, winter forage for silage and alfalfa. Van Steyn serves as chairman of the board for California Ammonia Company, and on the board of Sacramento County Farm Bureau.
He also is on the board of the California Dairy Environmental Justice Fund and is a former state board member of the California Farm Bureau Federation.
DFA’s grassroots structure ensures representation and leadership by the dairy farmer owner-members of the organization. The elected leaders are responsible for guiding management and establishing the policies and business direction of the cooperative.
