An additional $62,000 is needed to move forward with Galt's new wastewater treatment plant. Since project approval early this year, the city has determined that more previously unseen work is needed for the engineering plan being prepared by a consultant.

The expense request will be voted on at tonight's regular Galt City Council meeting.

Council members are also scheduled to:

  • Approve a $21,000 loan for consultant services related to the dissolution of the Redevelopment Agency.
  • Receive an update on capital improvement projects.
  • Renew the lease with Sacramento County for the library in Galt.
  • Discuss city manager Jason Behrmann's employment contract in closed session.

The city council meets today at 7 p.m. in the City Hall City Council chambers, 380 Civic Drive, Galt.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
