The Lodi Professional Firefighters union will be out the Downtown Lodi Farmers Market on Thursday nights through the end of September taking blood pressure readings for Lodi residents.
Union President Brad Doell said the group wants to help local residents be proactive with their health.
“By taking your blood pressure and getting a a baseline, it’s a good indicator of health,” Doell said.
Firefighter Justin Porter said when emergency crews respond, it is helpful if people know if their blood pressure reading is higher or lower than normal. Doell said he hopes people will take advantage of the free service.
“It’s an easy, low cost way to keep track of your health,” he said.
