Lodi police pursued a man on foot for two blocks before arresting him at gunpoint Thursday afternoon near West Lockeford Street and North Pleasant Avenue, according to Sgt. Mike Oden of the Lodi Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of an argument between Scott McIntire, 22, and his girlfriend around 1 p.m. on the 100 block of North Church Street. As officers were speaking with the couple, McIntire took off, Oden said.

Several officers who were in the area responding to a disturbance call helped pursue as police chased the man toward North Pleasant Avenue, Oden said. An officer intercepted McIntire at gunpoint along West Lockeford Street. After a brief struggle, another officer helped apprehend McIntire, Oden said.

Police booked McIntire into the Lodi jail on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and a felony warrant.
