The San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the woman killed in a weekend traffic collision as Marie Edwards, 57, of Galt.
Edwards was driving through a green light west on Eight Mile Road when her 1997 Honda Civic was hit by a vehicle driven by a 69-year-old Stockton woman who ran a red light while driving a 2005 Dodge Caravan north on West Lane at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Edwards was later pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton.
Edwards’ car stopped in a westerly direction across two lanes of southbound West Lane, just north of Eight Mile Road, according to a CHP report
Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, according to the CHP.
