The city's Planning Commission is not in favor of creating an ordinance to allow egg-laying chickens within city limits. At a special meeting Thursday, the commission voted 4-0 not to recommend approval to the city council.
The idea, originally brought forward by Councilman Mark Crews on behalf of constituents, would allow up to four egg-laying hens so long as they were housed in an enclosure. Other rules have been discussed, as well.
