A man is being held on $1 million bail and faces charges of first-degree robbery, kidnapping and false imprisonment after Lodi police arrested him Friday.

Christopher Aguirre, 23, faces serious charges for a crime he was allegedly involved in back in October.

According to police reports, Aguirre is believed to be one of two men who kidnapped a Hispanic male in his early 20s in late October, beat him, held him at gunpoint and forced him to withdraw $300 from his bank account at the Wells Fargo Bank at the corner of Lodi Avenue and Church Street.

Police stated in October that Aguirre was able to escape capture after he climbed out of a window in an El Rancho Motel room, where he allegedly held his victim hostage.

Police stated that Aguirre was believed to be a member of the Sureños gang.

Aguirre is scheduled to appear in court in Stockton on Jan. 3.
