A red flag warning has been issued by the National Weather Service today due to expected high winds and low levels of humidity.
According to a press release by the National Weather Service, winds are expected to be hitting speeds between 20 and 30 miles per hour, with gusts reaching up to 45 miles per hour.
Humidity is expected to be around 10 to 15 percent to locally as low as 7 percent.
Low humidity along with gusty winds and dry fuels result in critical fire weather conditions, the press release stated. The conditions also increase the likelihood of rapid spread of any fire starts.
The warning is in effect beginning at 11 a.m. today and runs through 10 p.m. tonight.
