The main house at Meadows Depot has served as a home to innumerable women and children as mothers recover from addictions. The halfway house will be closed on Aug. 16 if financial backers are not found to support it.

Children living at Meadows Depot often play together in the large open yard. Several small families live in one of four blue houses on the property as single women and mothers work through their addictions on the road to recovery.

I used to live around the corner from this home. It was always a well kept & quiet piece of property. This is such a worthwhile establishment that it would be disgraceful to see it go under. With unemployment and economic woes putting even the most affluent individuals into a tailspin, a loving structured homefront makes all the difference in the world if you're walking the tightrope of sobriety. EVERYONE needs a hand up at one point in their lives. Mothers are, across the board, number one on the list of worthwhile individuals. Any contribution we can make would only improve our community as a whole.

Let's all work together to keep Meadows Depot alive.
"A Woman’s Heart Ministries" sounds like a good solution. Let's hope this gets done quickly.
