City leaders and merchants have seen an increase in foot traffic and business in recent weeks, but they can’t nail down one definite reason for this new boom. Whatever the cause, everyone is pleased more people are visiting Downtown.

Councilman Bob Johnson said at Wednesday’s Lodi City Council meeting that he spoke with a few employees at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory on a recent Tuesday night, and they said their business was off the charts.

I've been telling friends and downtown business owners that I've also noticed a huge increase in both auto & foot traffic as well.

Auto traffic may be attributed to the construction being done on Sacramento St, but I feel the foot traffic increase is due mostly to having such a great selection of venues downtown.

There are many new businesses in general, but more importantly, there are many more social and food/wine venues. Five years ago there wasn't much to do or see in downtown Lodi areas, but now you have a multitude of great choices to wine & dine & shop.

On top of all of that, there are often many locations downtown that are providing live music for our listening pleasure. Not just any music…GREAT music from amazing local bands & singers.

Downtown Lodi is BOOMING! And I for one am reaping the benefits from all of it by enjoying as much of it as possible.
