San Joaquin County Superior Court will be resuming some small-claims services beginning Monday. Small-claims services were curtailed last year due to ongoing budget cuts to the judicial branch.

Services to be provided include:

  • Renewal of judgment.
  • Order of examination.
  • Writ of execution.

The court will continue to file abstracts of judgment, satisfaction of judgment, claims of exemption, requests for dismissal, proof of service, requests for court orders, motions to vacate, resetting court dates for cases filed prior to Sept. 1, 2012, memorandum of costs, appeals and requests for Installments.

The court no longer accepts small-claims e-filings.

Filings may be filed at the court clerk's office, 222 E. Weber Ave., Room 303 on the third floor, Stockton.

The small-claims counter is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Drop boxes are available outside the clerk's offices. Documents placed in the boxes by 5 p.m. will be deposited for filing that same business day.

There is also a self-help area in the clerk's office where the public can find forms and other information by visiting www.tinyurl.com/7he5j4o. You may also call 209-468-2949 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Court users may consider contacting the Mediation Center of San Joaquin for assistance in resolving their disputes. For more information, call 209-474-8794.
