Assemblywoman Alyson Huber, D-El Dorado Hills, will be the keynote speaker at an inaugural gala tonight in Stockton.

Sponsored by the San Joaquin County Democratic Central Committee, the bash will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Stockton Ballroom, 9650 Thornton Road.

The actual program will begin at 8 p.m. with Huber's speech and a video feed of Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, and possibly Rep. Dennis Cardoza, D-Merced, according to Lodi resident Richard Blackston, chairman of Democrats of Greater Stockton.

McNerney will shoot video at the inauguration this morning and give a personal greeting that will be shown at the Stockton event tonight.

The remainder of the evening will include music by the Cesar Chavez High School jazz band, decadent chocolate desserts by 13 clubs and affiliates and the opportunity to meet Democrats from other parts of the county, Blackston said.

Cost is $30 by ordering tickets in advance at www.actblue.com/page/sjcdcc or $35 at the door. Sponsorships are also available. Dressy attire is optional.

Inquisitor- I agree, although this article is worthless. You just know somehow LOADEYE will be up next weaving a theory on how the CC 3 Ayemigoes and the Land Developers are responsible for not having this event in Lodi, and that this is just another reason why our electric rates are so high, on why the GOB's are trying to fool us with RDA for the eastside, and on why Ms Johl got a $5K raise.

Yeah, you knew Bush was going to let some of his cronies off as he went out the door. I'm surprised he didn't bomb another country too.The future is bright with Obama. Today is a great day for America!

Has anyone seen the list of 137 drug dealers, ENRON executives and random Bush cohorts that W has pardoned? The man is in serious contention with Billy Bob Clinton for the most shameful pardon list in history.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
