San Joaquin County is No. 3 in the state for the number of people given whooping cough vaccines this year at special clinics throughout the county, according to Krista Dommer, a spokeswoman for county Public Health Services.
Several more free clinics will be open throughout September in Stockton, Lathrop, Manteca, Linden, Tracy and Ripon.
Shots are intended for those who are uninsured or do not have a doctor, and those who are 11 years and older. Pregnant women in their first trimester must bring a doctor’s prescription.
