Some residents are raising concerns about illegal fireworks in Lodi that start going off well before the Fourth of July and continue for days — if not weeks — afterwards.

Resident John Francis said that since the city of Lodi approved the ordinance that permits the sale of legal fireworks in town, the noise level in his neighborhood has gotten out of control.

I could really care less if fireworks are no longer available in the future but I also realize that several local non-profits are very dependent upon these funds. I would also be willing to speculate that the disturbances around the City are not caused by the fireworks being sold by these vendors. I also don't believe the illegal fireworks will go away if the City discontinues the sale of legal fireworks. Someone knows who these individuals are that set off these illegal fireworks and report them. I would hate to see these non-profits suffer for the actions of people who won't obey the law.

What better way to celebrate the birth of a
nation then by blowing up a small part of it
    and bothering/offending your neighbors at
    the same time????
