Don Nottoli won his bid for another term as a Sacramento County supervisor in a landslide victory Tuesday.
Nottoli has served in the position since 1994 and squared off against Lovie Kirkland in the election.
With all precincts reporting, Nottoli finished with 17,568 votes (69.8 percent) and Kirkland had 7,537 votes (30 percent). There were 55 write-in votes.
The 5th district, represented by Nottoli, covers more than 700 square miles and includes areas such as Galt, Elk Grove and Isleton. Nottoli also serves on the Freeport Regional Water Authority Board and the Delta Protection Commission, and is a former member of the Galt City Council.
Nottoli watched the election results come in while he dined with supporters, friends and family members at Frasinetti's Winery & Restaurant in Sacramento.
"I'm very pleased," he said of the early election returns, which showed him commanding nearly 70 percent of the votes. "They are a pretty strong indicator, and I'm confident the numbers will hold up. I'm looking forward to four more years of serving the people of Sacramento County."
