A Lodi man who was arrested on suspicion of robbing Java Stop has been linked to a January robbery of a food market, police said Tuesday.
Kristopher Gonzalez, 22, was arrested Friday night shortly after the 321 S. Hutchins St. coffee shop was robbed at gunpoint. Undercover detectives found him walking in the rain a few blocks from the shop, after he had allegedly discarded a replica handgun, a bandana, beanie and jacket along the way.
On Tuesday, Detective Mike Manetti said Gonzalez was connected to a Jan. 21 armed robbery at El Molcajete Market, 360 E. Lodi Ave.
In that case, a man had acted as a customer, then pulled out a gun when the cash register drawer opened. He took cash and fled.
Gonzalez had been jailed on $50,000 bail in the Java Stop robbery. The second case doubled his bail.
He is scheduled to appear in Lodi court today, according to San Joaquin County Jail records.
