Aggressive solicitors, including those asking for money, will be banned from private property and private parking lots if the owner or tenant asks them to leave or posts a sign prohibiting the practice.
That was the unanimous decision of the city council on Tuesday when members added an amendment to an ordinance adopted last year that focused on panhandling at the Galt Market.

The word "aggessive" should be replaced with "ALL" panhandling. Galt and Lodi should also require ALL panhandlers and solicitors to have written permission from the store or property owners. There are a lot of "phony" charitable organizations that set up shop outside of stores trying to guilt people into "donating" by using orphanages and even prevention of animal cruelty to solicit donations.
