On Tuesday, the City Council also:
Received a report from Mayor Barbara Payne on the city's strategic plan which includes following through with redevelopment plans although the agency no longer exists.
Recognized its police volunteers who, in turn, presented a $134,760 to the city representing the combined salaries of its members if they had been paid.
Approved workers' compensation insurance coverage for city volunteers. There will be no additional cost to the city.

Aggressive solicitors, including those asking for money, will be banned from private property and private parking lots if the owner or tenant asks them to leave or posts a sign prohibiting the practice.
That was the unanimous decision of the city council on Tuesday when members added an amendment to an ordinance adopted last year that focused on panhandling at the Galt Market.
