Thousands of people ringed Lodi Lake to make America's birthday Tuesday during the all-day "4th at the Lake" event. As day gave way to night, the dark sky gave way to the brilliant red, white, blue and gold fireworks that many waited all day to see.

Tami Hilscher was among the first of an estimated 3,200 people who came to the lake.

It is UNAMERICAN for any city to ban all fireworks on AMERICA'S birthday yet CHARGE everyone plus Cars to celebrate AMERICA'S birthday enjoying fireworks! I am ashamed of Lodi City Council, and the Mayor!

Since when is it called "4th at the Lake"? I thought it was the "Ooh Aah Festival". That's what I've always called it either way.

Hmmm... no mention of crappy country music. Does that mean they gave the Garth Brookse wannabes the boot this year?

Awesome!! The fireworks display was top notch!! Well worth the entry fee price. You could imagine what it might have been like 50-60 years ago when everyone
from Lodi gathered there for the fourth.
