National Dump the Pump Day is today. Residents are invited to ride public transportation for free. Free rides are on all five fixed routes and all four express routes. The bus schedule has also been adjusted to accommodate the Downtown Lodi Farmers Market. The last bus from the Farmers Market leaves at 8:30 p.m.
Capt. Dan Williams and his wife Kim were recognized for their service by the Lodi City Council. Kim Williams and her husband both addressed the audience to thank them for welcoming them into the community and helping to make Lodi home.
"Take care of your community, take care of your streets," Kim Williams said. "We were privileged to have our grandchildren grow here. We are grateful you have shared this community with us."

The skate park and security cameras were the hot conversation topics at Wednesday's Lodi City Council meeting.
Measures to remove outdated requirements in the original ordinance for skate park guidelines were ultimately approved by all four city council members present, but not without some chatter beforehand on how to possibly put a stop to ne'er-do-wells' questionable activities around the area.
