The following is a list of public meetings in the Lodi and Galt areas this week:


Lodi Youth Commission

Key items:

  • Updates on Teen Lead, Facebook and Spring Fling.
  • Junior High Education day.
  • Future event and city financial requirements.
  • End of the year dance.
  • Scholarship program.

When and where: 7 p.m., Hutchins Street Square, Cottage Room, 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi.

Lodi Animal Advisory Commission

Key items:

  • Progress reports on shelter improvements and disaster preparedness for the Animal Shelter.
  • Update on countywide animal services.
  • Discuss annual report to Lodi City Council.

When and where: 6 p.m., Lodi Police Department community room, 215 W. Elm St., Lodi.

Lodi Public Library Board of Trustees

Key items:

  • Operating budget for the 2011-12 fiscal year.
  • Consider a processing fee for lost library materials.
  • Reports by Friends of the Lodi Public Library and the Lodi Public Library Foundation.
  • Evaluation, in closed session, of Library Director Nancy Martinez.

When and where: 5:30 p.m., Lodi Public Library, 201 W. Locust St., Lodi.


Galt Joint Union High School District board

Key items:

  • Approve ratification of tentative agreement with certificated staff on a district retirement incentive program.
  • Vote on a reduction of district health benefit contribution for school board members.
  • Receive a presentation on the Project Lead the Way academic program.
  • Recognize Maria Orr for outstanding administrator for the FFA Central Region.
  • Discuss, in closed session, Superintendent Daisy Lee’s evaluation.

When and where: 6:30 p.m., Galt City Hall City Council chambers, 380 Civic Drive, Galt.

Lodi City Council special meeting

Key items:

  • Discuss several lawsuits filed against the city in closed session.

When and where: 7 p.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

Lodi Improvement Committee

Meeting canceled.

San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

meeting is canceled. The next meeting will be April 26.


Lodi Unified School District Superintendent’s Budget Advisory Committee

Key item:

  • To provide recommendations to Superintendent Cathy Nichols-Washer on possible budget reductions. This is the final meeting of the school year.

When and where: 5 p.m., James Areida Education Support Center, 1305 E. Vine St., Lodi.

Lodi Planning Commission

Key items:

  • Application by Rod Cockrum for beer-wine license at 1379 S. Lower Sacramento Road, Suite 501.
  • Request by Fields Family Vineyards and Winery for winery license and facade improvements at 20 N. School St.
  • Winegrower license for Toasted Toad Cellers, 21 E. Elm St.
  • Lodi General Plan and development code update.

When and where: 7 p.m., Carnegie Forum, 305 W. Pine St., Lodi.

San Joaquin County General Plan update

Key item:

  • Reaction from community about how the county should grow during the next 20 years.

When and where: 7 p.m., Lockeford Elementary School multipurpose room, 19456 N. Tully Road, Lockeford.

Woodbridge Sanitary District board

Key items:

  • Discuss district’s response to notice of violation by the State Water Resources Control Board.
  • Discuss ways to maximize long-term sewage control capacity.
  • Discuss specifications for sewer plant inspections.
  • Consider purchasing pumps for the country club lift station.
  • Consider job descriptions and hourly wages for Wastewater Plant Operator I and Wastewater Maintenance Worker I and II.

When and where: 7 p.m., Woodbridge fire station, 400 E. Augusta St., Woodbridge.

Lodi Arts Commission

Key items:

  • Updating Hutchins Street Square and Lodi Arts websites.
  • Update on grants.
  • Report on budget.

When and where: Noon, Hutchins Street Square, Thomas Theatre Gallery, 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi.

Lodi Site Plan and Architecture Review Committee

Meeting canceled.


Galt Joint Union Elementary School District school board study session

Key item: Presenting critieria for developing reconfiguration and school closures plan. No board decision will be made.

When and where: 7 p.m., McCaffrey Middle School multi-purpose room, 997 Park Terrace Drive, Galt.

Lodi Unified School District town hall-style meeting

Key item: To hear from the community regarding ideas for possible budget reductions.

When and where: 6 p.m., James Areida Education Support Center, 1305 E. Vine St., Lodi.

Reclamation District 348 board

Key items:

  • Discuss Mokelumne River levee rehabilitation project from Interstate 5 west to Wimpy’s Marina.
  • Consider resolution of intent to levy annual assessment, accept engineer’s report and schedule public hearing.

When and where: 2 p.m., Croce & Co., 501 W. Weber Ave., fifth floor, Stockton.


Local Agency Formation Commission

Key items:

  • Proposal to annex 5.04 acres on Thornton Road to a county service area that provides water, sewer, storm drainage and street lighting for Flag city and into a separate zone to treat water nitrate.
  • Preliminary budget and LAFCO fees for the 2011-12 fiscal year.

When and where: 10 a.m., Board of Supervisors chambers, 44 N. San Joaquin St., sixth floor, Stockton.
