Lodi City Council members agreed that a reverse 911 system was unnecessary for the city at this particular moment, after receiving a presentation on the topic from Lodi Fire Battalion Chief Gene Stoddart and Benjamin Buecher, manager of the city’s Information Technology Division, during their shirtsleeve session on Tuesday morning.

According to Stoddart, a reverse 911 system could be utilized by city officials to notify the citizens of Lodi en masse when there is a natural disaster or a manmade hazardous situation.
