Lodi police are searching for a man who they said brandished a gun during an armed robbery Wednesday morning at the Wine Country Cardroom and Restaurant on the 1800 block of South Cherokee Lane.

According to Lodi Police Sgt. Doug Chinn, a customer grabbed a large amount of cash sitting on a card table at around 2:30 a.m. and ran from the building. Security guards said they chased the suspect outside before he pulled out a gun and told the guards that if they came any closer, he’d shoot them.

The suspect was described as an Asian man standing 5-feet, 7-inches tall, weighing about 145 pounds and with a dollar sign tattoo on his face. He fled in a dark colored car, possibly a Chevy Cobalt, Chinn said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Lodi Police Department at 209-333-6727 or Lodi Crime Stoppers at 209-369-2746.
