It’ll take more than an Icee to keep cool this blistering-hot weekend. With record-setting temperatures well in excess of 100 degrees expected throughout the Valley on Saturday, residents might be wise to stay inside and hug their air conditioner.

Lodi is expected to reach a high of 107 or 108 degrees on Saturday afternoon, 20 degrees warmer than the average for this time of year, according to meteorologist Ken Clark of AccuWeather.com, a private forecasting service. The record high for June 8 is 106, set in 1973.
