A public meeting will be held to discuss safety and noise issues at Lodi Lake and the Mokelumne River at 6 p.m. tonight in the Lodi Police Department Community Room, at 215 W. Elm St., Lodi.

The meeting will address the supposed increase in non-motorized vessels at both the lake and river. Attendees will also discuss the noise of JetSkis, which meeting organizers say makes bird-watching difficult in the Lodi Lake Nature Area.

The Lodi Lake is a place for Our Community Members and the Surrounding Area to VISIT. Most of Us Do Not Live Around The Lake. We sit or stroll, bird watch or not, hike or sit, listen or share. It really takes away the beauty of the Lake and ALL the Natural Wonders that it holds, when LOUD NOISE POLLUTANTS are Visiting. I can't imagine what the residents who live around the lake must go through every day. The traffic, the noise, the garbage thrown outside the placed cans, the drugs in the back nature walk area, the picnic parties with LOUD music day-in/day-out. It would ONLY be considerate to Limit what We, the Public should be allowed to do at the lake. This is a Community Lake, not a race course for you adrenaline junkies to show off your toys. Personally, I would like the Jet Skies, Motor Boats and Loud Music to go away from Our Lake. However, can the City Enforce what the People of Lodi Want? We will see...
