A motion to seal the records in a clergy abuse lawsuit against a Lockeford priest has been granted.

San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge Bob McNatt granted a request by the Stockton Diocese and Michael Kelly, priest at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, to have records sealed for the civil trial.

Kelly and the diocese were sued in 2007 in a case in which a man, now 37 years old, claims that Kelly sexually abused him in the 1980s, when Kelly was a priest at Church of the Annunciation in Stockton. Kelly was put on administrative leave in 2007, when the allegations surfaced, but he was reinstated to his position at St. Joachim's five months later when the diocese found no evidence supporting the allegations.

A Feb. 14, 2012 trial date on the civil lawsuit has been set.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
