I am so glad this young lady got away from this rapist. It's horrible to hear how this creep was out there and followed this young girl. And to be able to give a description was very helpful and might help catch this creep. You did a great job, young lady, as you survived this attack and got away!! PLEASE wait for your mom next time!

Layla-Don't play the "kid" card on us! There is no profanity, no sexual issues, nothing except an occasional name calling spat. And to say kids are reading the comment section on a story of a release of a sketch of a robbery suspect is being a little "wishful" don't you think? Further, if you're referring to the "idiot" comment made by the poster at 0804 hrs, do you think a kid is going to be shocked by someone using the term idiot? Please.Maybe LNS should spend more time on the editorial content and less time reading the comment section.I'm curious if you will refer this as a "level headed" comment?

Why do police sketches always make criminals look like space aliens?I have only seen one or two in my life that looked like the actual perps.

lodibill: The Lodi News-Sentinel DOES NOT sell e-mail addresses. The newspaper's privacy policy is here: http://www.lodinews.com/help/privacy/. That page says, "We use return e-mail addresses to answer the e-mail we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties."Thanks to those who made level-headed comments. I'll be the first to acknowledge that we do make mistakes. We also want to fix them, and we appreciate it when people point them out. Whether you use an anonymous name or a real name, it doesn't hurt to remember that real people (children included) are reading these comments.

All of you people complaining about people complaining need to relize we are just holding LNS to a certain standard we expect. The fact that the online content is free is not important. The website has the LNS name on it and as such it should be held to the same standard as the print edition. BTW Ordinary Citizen- Fairly brazen talk coming from someone who is anomonious themselves. You take the cake. Someone anomoniously complaing about someone else anominiously complaing. Huh yea.To Stuck- We can throw a fit. The reason we are here is to get the news. LNS makes money off of us by selling advertising on the web page and selling our e-mail addy's. As such we have a right to demand a level of performance that is sometimes not met by LNS. Most of the time the content is very good. Sometimes it is not. Just like any other consumer we have a right to expect a job well done, when it is not we have a right to complain.

Hey Everybody, unfortunately the police sketch is the BEST that the artist could do because of the description the girl gave to them - he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt - that's all she could see of the guy. I don't get the negativity about this one.Layla: I hear you. I am always a little bewildered and appalled by some of the nastiness that I read. But, I guess anonymous people sitting behind a keyboard can type just about anything because A. they can B. it's a safe, albeit cowardly way to do it (if it's nasty and vile) C. maybe it's the only way in which to voice an opinion, after all, everybody does want a voice in which to be heard. But there is a way to express the opinion and it doesn't always have to be nasty. But, then again, nasty is as nasty does. Perhaps too much garbage going in and that's what's going to come out. Unfortunately we had to cancel our subscription due to finances, so we are very thankful to be able to read the news online. Thanks for website.

when it comes to the LNS webpage, everyone should remember the old pre-school saying"You get what you get and you don't throw a fit"

says If you weren't such cheap skates and paid for your community paper, you would have seen the sketch this morning. While I find errors in articles, i certainly don't make a big deal about it. Noone is perfect and technical issues happen. give it a rest and be happy you get the news.

Layla wrote: "...I'm not sure why people get so nasty." I may not be 100% on this; but I think a lot has to do with frustration...plus the fact that a certain poster seems to be able to dish it out; but not be able to take it regarding a light, fun story that almost everyone enjoyed and has had the kibosh put on it.

ya since the internet webpages are free that is why i dont bother wasting my money on the LNS subscription.

I reconize this guy.....he was mowing the neighbor's lawn..no wait...he was washing dishes at Dennys..no wait he was at the flea market selling fake Gucci wallets....the sketch is great..shows him real well!!!

OK, everyone, calm down. It was a technical glitch, not an editing matter. It will be fixed online soon.Subscribers saw the sketch on the front page of their paper, above the fold, this morning. Online content is free, so I'm not sure why people get so nasty.

Should have read, "Sketch of suspect is released by Lodi police but being withheld by Lodi News-Sentinel"

  • posted at 2:50 am on Thu, Dec 17, 2009.

OMG! I found the sketch. It was in the robbery story. You know the set up robbery!http://lodinews.com/articles/2009/12/17/news/10_robbery_video_091217.txtLike I said, attention to detail isn't really a strong point.Ol Richie is too busy worried that someone is being offended by a comment!

  • posted at 2:47 am on Thu, Dec 17, 2009.

Hahaha... I was thinking the exact same thing as I was reading this article. "Hispanic man about 30 to 40 years old. He was 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build." yup, that's very detailed. I'm sure I could spot him, and about 100 others, that fit this description. LoL...

  • posted at 2:47 am on Thu, Dec 17, 2009.

That would require follow up and attention to detail. Not really a strong suit at LNS.They're too busy worrying about what someone says in a comment section.

this is gonna make it a little tough to find him...

Not a very nice comment turrich2, but I do have to agree. Where is it?

Hey You Idiots !! The whole point is the sketch!! Where is it??? This is why I canceled my subscription! very very bad editing!
