Lodi police said two people were arrested, including a documented Sureño gang member, for allegedly possessing guns and methamphetamine Monday evening.
Two members of the Lodi Police Department’s gang enforcement unit visited a motel in the 800 block of South Cherokee Lane to see if anyone of interest was staying there, Lodi Police Sgt. Mike Manetti said. Officers noticed that a driver’s license number provided to the motel didn’t match the name given by the guest, so they decided to check the room, Manetti said.
When officers knocked on the door, Cesar Orozco, 24, who police say is a known Sureño gang member, reportedly tried to escape out of a window, Manetti said.
Inside the motel room, officers said they found two handguns, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, Manetti said.
Police arrested Orozco on suspicion of possessing someone else’s credit card, receiving more than $400 in stolen property, possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia, possessing drugs while armed and possessing a firearm during drug violations.
Police also arrested Anjela Rojas, 30, on suspicion of being a felon or addict in possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false identification to a police officer and two outstanding warrants.
