Two former school trustees are among the provisional appointee candidates to be interviewed Thursday for a seat on the Galt Joint Union Elementary School District board of trustees.
Pat Maple, who served on the Galt Joint Union High School District board for years, and Robert Ellis, a former elementary trustee, both applied to fill the seat vacated by former trustee Jennifer Collier. Ellis opted not to seek re-election in 2010.
Other applicants include Hillary Crownover, William Hogan and Grace Malson, wife of former Galt City Councilman Tom Malson.
Trustees are scheduled to make a provisional appointment Thursday following a public interview process of all five applicants.
The appointment is required after Collier resigned last month for personal reasons. The new trustee will serve through 2012, at which time he or she can run for election to remain on the board.
This week's meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the district office, 1018 C St., Suite 210, Galt.
