- Capt. David Griffin calls for Lodi House donations
Lodi Police Capt. David Griffin is on the board of directors for Lodi House, an organization that shelters homeless women and children, and works there about once a month.
Lodi House is in negotiations to buy he old Pine Auto building for the thrift store the organization runs, Griffin said, because the rent for their current location is being raised.
“It’s exciting. It’s fun to be a part of that,” Griffin said.
Griffin said the organization is looking for donations to purchase that building for about $460,000. For more information about Lodi House or to donate, call 209-334-6346.

Lodi Police Capt. David Griffin, who was promoted to captain rank on Tuesday, started his law enforcement career as a deputy sheriff in Contra Costa County when he was 24.
Though Griffin didn’t have any family or friends in the force, he was motivated to seek a job by the untimely layoff of his father and the love of his girlfriend.
