Two stores robbed at gunpoint

Police are investigating robberies at two local convenience stores.

A black male entered the Shell gas station on Kettleman Lane and Lower Sacramento Road at 12:40 p.m. on Friday. He produced a handgun and robbed the cashier of an undisclosed amount of cash, said Lt. Bill Alexander.

Twenty minutes later, another gas station reported a robbery by a man of the same description. He entered the Arco gas station at Victor Road and Beckman Road at 1 p.m., police said.

"He used the same gun and the same technique," Alexander said.

Police suspect the same man robbed both stores, but no arrests have been made. He was seen leaving the Arco store in a silver Cadillac with a white top and chrome wheel rims.

It is not known whether other shoppers were in the stores during the robberies. No injuries were reported.
