The California Highway Patrol is trying to find out who fired a gunshot at a car's windshield on Highway 99 at about 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The victim told officers that a car with two men about 30 years old moved directly in front of the victim just south of Eight Mile Road, according to a CHP report. The driver then fired one shot with a semiautomatic handgun at the victim's windshield in front of the steering wheel, according to CHP spokesman James Smith. The bullet did not hit the victim, Smith said.
The vehicle that contained the shooter is described as a large, baby-blue, older four-door sedan with a number of primer gray spots on the vehicle. It was last seen exiting Highway 99 at Morada Lane, Smith said.
Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect or the vehicle may contact CHP Officer Brandon Rioux at 209-943-8600.
