Galt police chased down and arrested two men shortly after they reportedly tried to kill a man on Monday night, officers said.

Around 6:30 p.m., Galt police received a call from a man who said two men were chasing him. But the call disconnected before he could provide a location, Galt police Lt. Brian Kalinowski said.

Once a dispatcher tracked the location using the man’s cellphone, officers responded to Emerald Vista Park, 800 Emerald Vista Drive, where they reported seeing two men running from the scene.

At the scene, officers found a 25-year-old man with several stab wounds in the neck, Kalinowski said. He was transported to Kaiser South Sacramento with non-life-threatening injuries, and was later released, Kalinowski said.

Witnesses identified two suspects whom officers later arrested in connection with the stabbing, Kalinowski said.

Oswart Martinez, 23, and Jeovani Martinez, who turned 24 on Monday, were arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide, conspiracy and gang enhancements, Kalinowski said.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
