If you’ve seen cars on the road around Lodi or Stockton sporting pink mustaches on the front ends, it’s not some new decorative fad. The mustachioed vehicles are part of a new service known as Lyft.

Lyft is a smartphone app that connects drivers to passengers in need of transportation. Its drivers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in 66 cities across the country. Founded in San Francisco in 2012, Lyft is an off-shoot of Zimride, another app that offers long-distance carpool rides in areas across the country.
