Summer doesn't officially begin until next Wednesday, but you would never know that with the high temperatures expected in Lodi this week.

Lodi will see temperatures in the mid-to-high 90s every day this week, according to Mike Pigott, senior meteorologist at Accuweather.com, a private forecasting service.

Starting today, Pigott said, Lodi will see a slight cool down due to the marine push, with the coolest day being Wednesday, when temperatures will only reach 89 degrees. Pigott also says to expect a slight breeze Wednesday, with wind speeds reaching up to 20 miles an hour.

However, come Friday, expect temperatures to be in the high 90s again. Temperatures are expected to be around 96 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.

These high temperatures are not only desirable to those looking to tan and swim, but also to those in the local wine business.

Kathy Mettler, owner of Harney Lane Winery, said these warm temperatures have been "making the grapes grow like crazy."

Mettler, who is also a farmer, said the best conditions for growing grapes is warm days and cool nights, so these high temperatures will be very helpful.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
