Seven people were arrested during Saturday night's DUI saturation program by the Lodi Police Department.
Three motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, one was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana, two were arrested for public intoxication, one had an outstanding warrant, and nine citations were issued, two of them for having open containers of alcohol in a vehicle, police said.
One of the people arrested for public intoxication was also arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, police said. Three vehicles were towed away, and three unlicensed or drivers with a suspended licensed were ordered to go to court.
Lodi police initially planned a DUI/driver's license checkpoint on Saturday, but it was canceled because of the rainy weather. Instead, one police sergeant and seven officers conducted a DUI saturation operation around town. Sixty-five vehicles were stopped, and 10 field sobriety tests were conducted.
