More young kindergarteners will be welcomed into the transitional kindergarten program through Lodi Unified School District.
The district is in the second year of a three-stage process to move the kindergarten age cut-off date to Sept. 1. Children must turn five years old before Oct. 1 to enter kindergarten for the 2013-14 school year. Those whose fifth birthdays land between Oct. 1 and Dec. 2 qualify for one of eight moring or afternoon kindergarten classes at four school sites.
Classes will be open at Lakewood Elementary and Lawrence Elementary schools in Lodi, and Mosher Elementary and Podesta Ranch Elementary schools in Stockton. Contact the school sites for more information.
