The city of Galt is busy buying material for approved city projects that volunteers will work on at the upcoming "Love Galt" day, scheduled for April 27.

Staff are also beginning to prepare project areas to facilitate volunteer efforts, according to City Manager Jason Behrmann.

Projects include:

  • Replanting landscape areas at Chabolla Avenue and Lincoln Way.
  • Replanting the fire damaged area on Carillion Boulevard at Walnut Avenue.
  • Installing horseshoe pits at the Sports Complex.
  • Repairing and painting siding on the Lake Canyon Park restroom.
  • Painting fire hydrants.
  • Painting the bridges at Canyon Creek and Cobble Hill ways.
  • General clean up at Dry Creek trail and painting of the shade structure.
  • Repainting fences/foul poles at Meadowview and Harvey parks.
  • Planting about 70 trees on Carillion Boulevard to replace missing trees. The city received the trees from the Sacramento Tree Foundation at no charge.
