Three agricultural professionals from Kosovo toured a family dairy in Galt on Friday to learn more about the facility’s digester.
New Hope Dairy, owned by Arlen Van Leeuwen and Arlin Van Groningen, is the site of a system that converts dairy cow waste to methane gas and ultimately electricity, which is sold to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. They also discussed food safety with the visitors, according to Frank Gayaldo, Galt’s former Chamber of Commerce executive director.
