The first-ever Country in the Park event, set for next month, received an infusion of money at Tuesday’s Galt City Council meeting.
The $2,225 budget approved by council members will largely go toward building horseshoe pits.
The city also plans to provide entertainment and free hot dogs to the first 200 participants. There will be a tractor exhibition, kids’ sports games and more.
The community event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7 at Walker Park at the corner of Elm Street and Sargent Road. It is co-sponsored by the Galt Chamber of Commerce with additional organization by the Shop Local group.
