Oh brother, ya gotta love the way Joanne squirms and even tries to redefine words to suit her needs. What a crock. Admit it, you got caught red handed doing exactly what you bring others to task for. BIGOT.

For your edification, Mr. Chapman, the definition of "bigot:" "a person who is intolerant of any ideas other than his or her own, esp on religion, politics, or race."

Last time I checked, white males were not a different race - at least to me, since I am white. See if you can find another noun that applies. Ready, set, GO!!

Mr. Scott wrote: "Joanne, how long have you lived here?"

I have lived in Lodi longer than I have not lived in Lodi. That adds up to a long time witnessing the power of the white male establishment in this town. More frightening than the cabal of individuals in power who control every aspect of your lives is the self-righteousness of the manner in which they accomplish that goal.

Mr. Scott wrote: "Females: Evie Olson, Emily Howard, Susan Hitchcock, and they all were elected to the council along with Ms Mounce."

So? The last time, according to this article, that a council member was "passed up" for the position of mayor was in 2003, i.e., Emily Howard - a woman by your own words. And no coincidence that opposing Ms. Mounce as vice-mayor were Hansen and Johnson. Seems they wished to avoid this "awkward moment."

Interesting to note that a certain red-faced council member actually approached a local homosexual (since the LNS wouldn't allow the use of the G-word) restauranteur and urged him to run for council. Apparently, his selling point was that he was male.

Mr. Bitz is correct. The LNS ditched this article when they "suddenly" realized how controversial the topic is.

Mr. Kindseth - perhaps you should consult with your best buddy, Mr. B.S., MA. Would be interested to know what he thinks about the topic. Ooops, forgot, all ultra-rightwing religious bigots think the same. Women are subserviant to men.

This front page article seems to be missing from LNS website. Must be some sort of technical problem as I cannot find it there now. Strange.

    Poor Joanne Bobin,

You stepped in this one, get a plastic bag for your shoes and throw away the brush.

    Glad you agree Robert.
I hope we can keep this topic focused on our local leadership and how our local politicians represent rate payers interests.

Roy Bitz, I agree with you. Joanne Mounce has a track record of doing good things for Lodi. She has opposed "rubber stamping" policies without vetting them first. This could aggitate some of the people on the council that fancies themselves as the power players. Like you, I see no reason she couldn't fill the Mayor's seat and do a splendid job.

Interesting article---looks like a muscle move on the part of Johnson, Hansen.
My guess is Mr. Nakinishi will support them so Phil won't have to---for once.
I got a kick out of Johnson more than once when he would follow up to Ms. Mounce opposing comments on an issue saying--- "someone's got their undies in a bunch"---he did this more than once--- Ms. Mounce asked him to stop refering to her underware and he did but his bullying comments say a lot about his character and his bias.
There is no reason for the council to deviate from the norm regarding selecting a Mounce for Mayor except she gets in their way.

Joanne, how long have you lived here? Here is a brief history lesson for you. Females: Evie Olson, Emily Howard, Susan Hitchcock, and they all were elected to the council along with Ms Mounce. Minorities are a bit tougher to recall because none really had much of a campaign but what about Taj Khan for one example. Dr. N is Japanese. I'm sure some other old timers can help me.

Lodi will usually elect a candidate who is qualified, no matter what the color of his/her skin. Except in the case of Emily Howard & Phil Katzakian, roflmao! Look, I'm a teenager!

So Joanne, you are going to hold on to the premise that most white males are crying foul over BHO being black rather than his catastrophic leadership since he was elected? As my old grandpappy used to say, "bullpucky".

Appears the "closeted" bigot, Joanne Bobin, just outed herself. Atta girl Joanne, I suspected as much all along. I am white and I am male, so I guess that puts me on your bigot list. How special do I feel now? An early Christmas gift, to be sure. Kinda shot yourself in the foot, eh old girl...... You can spin this post all you want but it still doesn't change what you posted about white males. Let me know what corner you are hiding behind so I don't accidently bump into you.

How quaint for Mr. Baxter to use a popular teen acronym, i.e., LOL.

In case you haven't noticed in the past 4-5 years, Mr. Baxter, the "white male" is the "new black."

Thus, the major outcry against Barack Obama. We have more white males in this country crying foul than we have minorities doing the same. Great for you to perfectly illustrate the "bigot around every corner."

JOANNE BOBIN posted, "Time to get rid of the all-white male-dominated council".
For someone who fiinds "bigots around every corner" in Lodi, that statement is as bigoted as it gets.Evidently she is bigoted against males and whites. Apparently JOANNE is just like the bigots as she fiinds around Lodi corners. Pot = Kettle = Black, LOL,

Seriously? Time to get rid of the all-white male-dominated council and vote in some progressive minorities and females who will actually have the capability of leading this city into the future.
