During the council's public comment time, Salvation Army Capt. Dan Williams announced that he was being transferred with his wife, Kimberly, to Alameda to become a county coordinator. His last day is June 24, and shortly after new leaders for the nonprofit will start.
"Thank you for working with us and supporting us during these six years," Williams said to the council.

Groups looking for premium seating at the Fourth of July will now be able to rent a picnic shelter at Lodi Lake for a $500 rental fee.
The Lodi City Council unanimously approved the new fee for two of the shelters, to help recoup some of the costs of putting on the event every year. Admission will still be free, and there will be more food vendors this year.
