Lodi police are trying to determine whether there is any connection between a string of commercial burglaries dating back to Sunday.
The most recent burglaries occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on Monday morning, when a suspect shattered the front door of Simple Mobile at 306 N. Ham Lane. When officers arrived, they found several cellphones outside the store, as well as drawers that a thief had rifled through, Lodi Police Lt. David Griffin said.
At 3:12 a.m., officers responded to Wireless Stars at 615 S. Cherokee Lane and found that the front door had also been smashed. A thief stole an unknown amount of merchandise, Griffin said.
These burglaries are the first since Sunday, when a suspect shattered the front door and front window of Econo Gas at 800 E. Victor Road and Tokay Market at 2525 S. Hutchins St.
Griffin said it’s unclear whether the four burglaries are connected, but it is possible. In the meantime, Griffin said, police are reviewing evidence and increasing patrol in areas that could be targets of burglars.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is encouraged to call the Lodi Police Department at 209-333-6727 or Lodi Crime Stoppers at 209-369-2746.
