A Lodi man arrested for possession of an improvised explosive device and other hazardous materials appeared in San Joaquin Superior Court on Tuesday, where he was released on his own recognizance.
James Perman, 43, was being held without bail after being arrested Jan. 2. Superior Court Judge Bob McNatt granted his release Tuesday on the condition that Perman stay away from any incendiary or combustible items, even matches or cigarette lighters.
Perman's next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 2.
